Sometimes visitors complain about what to locals are the most amazingly ridiculous things.
For example, there’s the city folks who go to a country retreat and find the ‘jungle noises’ or the sounds of farm animals so strange that it keeps them awake.
How can you overcome this if you run a hotel or B&B in the country? Here’s one marvellous way of handling this that I found on a sign by my bed at a country B&B recently:
“In the country the frogs croak, the sheep bleat and the roosters crow. So we have placed some ear plugs in the drawer for a good night’s sleep.”
I checked the drawer and yes, they had supplied ear plugs. Not that I needed them. It’s in accommodation by busy roads in the city that I’d put them to good use!
